About Us
The King Eddy restaurant opened on December 15th, 2014. Located in Ottawa's historical Byward Market, the 'Eddy' is home to Ottawa's best burger and offers up a wide variety of classic 'diner' type fare that is made fresh in house everyday with quality ingredients.
We are open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and twenty-four hour extended service every Thursday through Sunday. We do not take reservations. For large group & special event inquiries, please send us an email at info@kegroup.ca or give us a call at 613-680-1700 - we will do our best to accommodate your requests!
The King Eddy Burger is ground fresh in house everyday with a proprietary blend of never frozen beef, no added seasoning or salt, and absolutely no preservatives! Each 3oz hand rolled beef ball is pressed onto our flat top grill and cooked to perfection. The King Eddy burger is served as a double cheeseburger with your choice of toppings. It's the old school burger as it was originally designed back in the 1950's - CLASSICALLY SIMPLE!
The name 'King Eddy' comes from a popular hang out spot for Gary Thompson & Gene Fraser during their late teenage years growing up in Guelph, Ontario. The food & atmosphere at The Eddy represents some fond memories for Gary growing up as a kid; from the classic burger to the buckets of fried chicken, the Big Eric sandwich and the White Russian (The Dude) Spiked Shake, they all have a story behind them.
The Thompson family, Gary, Brenda, Samantha, and Lindzy have a long history in the Ottawa food & beverage industry. Beginning with the Empire Grill in 1998, the family understands great hospitality. We are very proud to be family owned and operated, and it brings us great joy in welcoming you to the Eddy!
Our entire menu is take out friendly - simply give us a call, drop in, or pull up the take out window and we'll be happy to send you on your way with a bag full of tasty treats!
"We Love All!"
